I Built a Stormy 3D House You Can Explore in Your Browser

A portfolio that isn't a portfolio, a stormy little 3D house you explore by scrolling, built in the browser with React Three Fiber.

I wanted to make a portfolio that didn't feel like a portfolio. So I built a house.

It's a little museum in the middle of a storm, rain falling, lightning cracking, torches flickering inside. All you have to do is scroll, and the camera glides through the house on its own, stopping at framed pictures and a book on a stand. Each frame is a project. Tap one and it opens.

The whole thing runs in the browser with React Three Fiber (Three.js). When it loads, there's a short intro, the scene sits in the dark, a song plays, and a lightning strike lights the house up. If you're not in the mood, flip the music off and it just opens straight into the lit scene.

I leaned into a PS1-style pixelated look to keep it moody and to keep it fast, even on phones. On mobile you swipe to move and tap to interact.

It was a lot of small problems stacked on top of each other, most hard part was the compression after exporting from blender.
